Edd and Tresia Eason

Edd and Tresia have been married since December 1971 and have an adult son and daughter. Over his 47-year work career, Edd has been a teacher, coach, youth minister, associate minister, executive director, and assistant vice-president for various non-profit organizations. Edd serves as co-leader of the Loving Others team, with CARE’s Youth Minister, Jaron Brandt. Edd volunteers on the Missions Committee, Project Eden (community garden), CARE Corps, FriendSpeak, and serves as Shepherd liaison to Student Ministry.  He enjoys leading small Bible study groups and doing pastoral care for members missing from our church assemblies. Tresia volunteers in the Children’s Ministry and OASIS (senior saints ministry). Edd and Tresia lead a LIFE Group that meets 1-2 times each month in different locations. 

Randy and Karla Gerdes

Randy and Karla have been married since June of 2004. They have 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. Previously, Randy had been an active member at Highland Oaks for ~20 years. Randy has taught Bible classes, led Life Group discussions, and led teams for Church has Left the Building. In his role as a shepherd, Randy loves praying with people, visiting those in the hospital, and meeting 1:1 with people for encouragement and direction. He and Karla have been an Elder couple since Jan of 2016, and are co-leaders, along with another couple, in leading one of the Life Groups.

 

Karla has been an involved member of CARE church since 1990. Randy began his journey with CARE in 2003 when he and Karla were dating. She taught Women's Bible class for ~20 years, served on numerous Women’s Retreat committees, hosted a student ministry Rock Group in her home for several years, and continues to work with Care Corps and serve with the Worship ministry. 

Steve and Maria Kell

Steve and Maria met while attending Care Church and have been married for 17 years. Between them, they have 4 children and 12 grandchildren. Steve’s work history involves serving as both a youth and pulpit minister, college administrator, and working in the plumbing industry. Steve joined the shepherds at Care Church in early 2021, having been involved with Men’s Ministry since 2001. Steve led the Adult Education Team, loves to teach—especially in small groups or one-on-one settings with men. Maria has worked in financial services for over 40 years. She previously served as an Admin Lead at Care Church.  She currently co-leads a Life Group, periodically teaches Bible classes, and coaches and disciples individuals.

Brad and Genell McClendon

Brad and Genell have been married since December 1989 and have two adult children who are married and one grandchild.  Brad retired from his engineering career in November 2022, and Genell retired from her education career in June 2022.  Brad and Genell came to Care Church in September 1999 and have been jointly involved in Children's, Youth, and adult Ministry.  Genell is involved in Women's Ministry and is currently teaching the older Elementary Bible School class.  Brad is currently involved in Men's Ministry, the Pastoral Care team, and the Sunday morning live stream.  They are also hosting a Life Group.

Mark and Rhonda Morris

Mark and Rhonda have been married since September 1976 and have two adult sons.  Mark was in various Information Technology leadership positions for 46 years before retiring in 2020.  Since 1998, Mark has served as a shepherd in churches in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and at Care Church beginning in January 2021.  Mark is involved with the Mission Committee, Changing Lives team, the Greeting team, and at the church building taking care of pastoral tasks during the week.  He enjoys leading one-on-one personal Bible studies, teaches ESL classes, and teaches a discipling Bible class. Rhonda taught school for 26 years before retiring in 2020, including 7 years as an Associate Professor at Oklahoma Christian University.  She is involved in Care Church in multiple ways, including as the liaison for Forestridge Elementary school and a member of the Praise Team.

Bob and Mona Otenti

Bob and Mona have been married since May 15, 1976, and have 4 adult children who have blessed them with 14 grandchildren.  Bob graduated from LCC in 1977 with a teaching degree which he used for 6 years in the Lubbock school system before going to work for Texas Instruments so he could support their growing family.  Teaching was in the blood so, Bob continued to teach children through Bible classes wherever they worshipped. They came to R.E., alias, Carechurch, in May 1990 and taught children's classes for many years.  Bob has also been a part of R.E. choruses and a singing group that traveled to Nursing Homes to bless Seniors with hymns and prayer.  He served as Life Group Leader, hosted teen Rock Groups in their home for many years and became a shepherd in 2005.  Mona has worked in Women's Wedding Ministry, Funeral Ministry, Fellowship Ministry, Sr. Saints Ministry, Care Corp., Women's Steering Committee, Ladies Retreat, and Holy Butterflies.

David and Sara Snyder

David and Sara have been members of Care Church since 1980. They have three children and seven grandchildren. David has served as a shepherd at Care Church since 1993. Over the years he has enjoyed many roles including teaching classes, leading small groups, facilitating new member classes, Men’s ministry, and being available to talk and listen to people. David retired in 2022 after a long career in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.  The shepherd role has always been a partnership between David and Sara as they minister and walk alongside people. Sara has held several roles as an office manager and is now a marriage Coach.  Sara has always been involved in teaching and in the Women’s ministry.

Bruce and Joan Swim

Bruce and Joan married on June 18, 1976. They are blessed with 2 married children plus 5 grandchildren. Bruce retired from consumer sales. Joan retired from RISD. Their decades-long membership has given them the opportunity to volunteer and serve across a broad spectrum of ministries at Care Church. Both minister in aspects of Care Corps, Children's Ministry, youth and family teaching, and hosting Life Groups. Joan serves in Women's Ministry and both share a passion for hospitality.
