Frequently asked questions about Small Groups
How do I get involved in a LIFE Group?
It can be as easy as locating the group closest to your home and visiting it! A map is located on the bulletin board in the north hallway of the RE building. Or for specific suggestions about a group that might fit you, contact Houston Heflin.
Most groups are always eager to receive new members. Unlike other churches where members are assigned to groups, we believe a person is more committed to a group if they are the ones to select it.
What's the difference between L.I.F.E. Groups and Cell Groups?
L.I.F.E Groups tend to be larger and open to new members at all times. Cell Groups, sometimes also called Spiritual Formation Groups, focus on intimate sharing about faith issues and personal accountability, so they tend to be restricted in size. Both types of groups are serious about helping members grow in faith and Christ-inspired action.
Do I have to be invited to a group?
L.I.F.E. Groups are specifically designed for you to visit at any time.
What happens at a meeting?
Each group is different, but most L.I.F.E. Groups use a simple Bible study focused on life application. Cell Groups focus on intimate sharing about faith issues and plans for pursuing personal spiritual formation. Every group spends time in prayer. And some have food!
